General

The Walrus Audio Meraki is an analogue stereo delay with an impressive amount of options. The word "meraki" comes from Greek and is used to express a sense of passion, creativity and love for something. Extremely appropriate, then. Underneath the Meraki's stylish casing are no fewer than eight MN3005 bucket brigade chips to create warm, rich repeats with a delay time of up to 1,200 milliseconds. In addition, you can choose from three different delay modes, namely parallel, ping-pong and in series. Nice detail is that the delay time and modulation for the left and right channels can be set separately. This allows you to create syncopated repeats or keep them at the same rhythm for a more traditional delay sound.

Meraki: Unleash your creativity

With the Walrus Audio Meraki on your pedalboard, you get a wide range of delay sounds at your disposal. For example, there is a Mix control that lets you determine balance between the "wet" and "dry" signal. The two Feedback controls determine the number of repeats per channel, from subile echoes to full oscillation. There is also modulation on board. In fact, the Mod Depth and Rate controls let you add a chorus/vibrato-like tone to the sound. In addition to the stereo inputs and outputs, you can also use MIDI IN/THRU and there is a jack for a separately available expression pedal. The footswitch acts as a tap tempo switch or hold it down for maximum oscillation!

Walrus Audio Meraki Stereo Analog Delay

The dry signal is affected by a high pass filter starting to roll off at 500hz. So might not fit everyone's use case. For guitars probably not a problem, but for bass and synths probably not the best choice unless you set it up as a send effect.
