General
The Pinnacle Microphones Fat Top II Active/Passive is a short ribbon microphone renowned for its warm, full and rounded sound. Thanks to its symmetrical figure-8 polar pattern, you can record from both the front and the rear, with a distinct null on the sides for extra isolation. A unique feature is the active/passive switch: in active mode, the ribbon is optimally loaded, isolated from your preamp, and you get up to 20 dB of extra output (phantom power required). Ideal for guitar cabinets, piano, brass and percussion, and also excellent as a pair in a Blumlein configuration.
