With its 22-inch diameter, the rich sound of this AAX Heavy Ride cymbal can generate a lot of volume, making it suitable for somewhat larger settings. The nice thing about this AAX cymbal is that even at high volumes it does not produce any annoying overtones or interfering frequencies. Thanks to an "Autofocus Response" treatment, the frequencies remain within bounds and you can therefore dynamically pull out all the stops. The bell also has a solid sound that colours well with the complexity of the blade. These characteristics - combined with a lot of stick definition - make this an ideal cymbal for the modern drummer.

The complex timbre of the AAX Heavy Ride 22"

B20 bronze alloy was used to produce this ride, which is traditionally finished on the blade but left unfinished on the bell. This gives the latter a raw timbre and a loud "pling". The blade is intensively hammered; you can clearly see the hammering and for the ear, this feature is pleasing. This gives the AAX Heavy Ride's dark sound a gritty accent.
