General
This thin ride from Sabian has a bright sound with refreshingly dark accents. Indeed, the AAX Thin Ride has clearly visible hammer blows in the blade, which give it a fine undertone. To prevent varying frequencies from creating distracting overtones or mixing, the blade is treated with a treatment called "Autofocus Response". This means that regardless of your attack, the frequencies remain balanced. This allows you to play with a lot of difference in dynamics, without compromising articulation. The blade also crashes well and has a medium sustain. The bell is raw and on the small side, making it sound clear but not distracting.
The versatility of the AAX series
Sabian created the AAX series with the aim of creating cymbals with a versatile, complex sound that can be used well in different styles of music. Indeed, this is a sound that is increasingly popular among drummers, not only because of its wide applicability, but especially because of its rich range of colours. The AAX Thin Ride has a diameter of 22 inches, making it the largest variant in the AAX series.
