General
Fender's Precision Bass, or P bass, was the first commercially successful electric bass guitar and despite being first introduced in 1951, it's still as popular as ever today. Its simple design and solid sound are just two of the things that have helped to make this model the choice of many bassists. This Precision Bass is from Fender's American Professional series, which replaces the American Standard series. While it's essentially the same classic model it's always been, it's been given a few modern features that take it to the next level.
American Pro Precision: neck, frets and machine heads
For many, the '63 P Bass neck profile that this model sports is the ultimate type for this sort of bass due to its excellent balance between playability and sound. There are 20 narrow, tall frets that make the strings easier to press down and improve the intonation as well. The neck is reinforced with two Posiflex graphite rods that enhance the tuning stability. There are also redesigned machine heads that have a fluted shaft which also increases the tuning stability and adds extra sustain too.
HiMass & V-Mod
While there are many types of bridges, Fender developed the HiMass Vintage bridge which it uses on this bass. It may look similar to a classic bridge, but it has more mass, which gives it more stability and sustain to go with its vintage sound. Taking responsibility for the amplified sound is the new Fender V-Mod pickup. It's based on Fender's classic vintage pickups but uses a mix of Alnico magnets that results in a warm, edgy sound with plenty of output. This Fender American Pro Precision Bass Antique Olive RW comes with an Elite Molded Case by Fender so that you can take this beautiful instrument with you wherever you go.
