This particular guitar has a remarkable natural finish, displaying the ash body in all its pure glory. Ash is a type of wood with a very rich tone, with lots of presence in the mid and bass regions. Additionally, the fretboard - like the rest of the neck - is made of maple, which doesn't only look pure, it also provides the overall sound with more clarity. The neck has block inlays on the fretboard and the 3-layer black pickguard supplies the essential contrast.

Retrospective construction

To actually pick up your playing, this bass guitar is equipped with two Fender single-coil pickups that were specially designed for the American Vintage '74 Jazz Bass. The tonal character of the genuine 1974 Jazz Bass is literally within your hand's reach. The bridge pickup has the same location as the one on the original and is hidden under a chrome cover (with Fender F). The other pickup is underneath an - also chrome-plated - hand rest and the pickguard even features a black thumb rest. Black volume and tone controls allow you to adjust the outgoing signal. This American Vintage '74 Jazz Bass effortlessly sets itself apart from the masses and has Fender written all over it.
