General

The Gretsch G5442BDC is a Transparent Red short-scale bass for advanced bass players. The bass guitar is part of the popular hollow-body line of the Electromatic series and distinguishes itself by its gorgeous classic design and sound, Transparent Red lacquer finish and relatively short 30-inch scale length. This latter characteristic makes it ideal for bass players with small hands, young musicians or anyone else who enjoys the comfort of a compact bass guitar.

The Filter'Tron pickups of the G5442BDC

Unamplified, this semi-acoustic bass produces a sound that is similar to that of a regular acoustic bass guitar. Two Black Top Filter'Tron pickups give the Gretsch G5442-BDC an electric edge, however, providing it with a high output, a full sound, sparkling trebles and a unique timbre, without deviating too far from the traditional rounded, clear Gretsch sound.

Other distinctive features

The G5442 BDC features a double cutaway that enables you to use the full length of its neck without any effort, and its glossy body is equipped with chrome hardware, a stylish tailpiece and elegant bindings. The bass guitar features a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, fitted with distinctive mother-of-pearl hump block position markers, and an Adjusto-Matic bridge allows for flawless intonation.

Tips or comments about this product
