If you're looking for an eye-catcher, then you're up the right alley with the Ibanez Soundgear premium SR1300 Natural Flat bass. It features an ash/walnut top, mahogany body wings and a 5-ply wenge and bubinga neck. The entire instrument has been kept natural and features a simple light oiled finish. Of course, this 4-string bass guitar also feels fantastic and plays nice and light.
Soundgear Premium SR1300 Natural Flat
This bass features top-of-the-line hardware. The truss rod, which can be adjusted on the side of the body, is titanium reinforced. Furthermore, the bass features Gotoh locking tuners, a Black Tusq comb, and a monorail bridge for superior intonation. Ibanez also chose to equip the Soundgear Premium SR1300 Natural Flat with a pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups.
Nordstrand pickups
Of course, we wouldn't be doing this bass justice if we didn't mention the sound. The loud, aggressive Nordstrand pickups delivers a nice yet sparkling punch that makes this something akin to a souped-up j-bass. This Ibanez bass also features a 3-band preamp, and along with a mid-frequency switch, it also has an EQ bypass switch so you can easily enjoy the natural sound of the Nordstrands. If you're looking for a sound that can be used across genres, then the SR1300NTF is the way to go.

As usual, Japanese manufacturer Ibanez has chosen the NAMM show in Anaheim, California to launch their new bass guitars. What better time to introduce 24 brand new models than the world's largest music gear convention, after all? Some of these new basses are based on existing models, but feature new finishes or modifications. Others are completely new, ground-breaking instruments.
