General
No fewer than five wood types went into the making of the Ibanez Soundgear Premium SR1305 Natural Flat. To be exact, that includes mahogany for the body wings, ash and walnut for the top, and wenge and bubinga for the neck. It would be a shame to cover all of those lovely woods up with paint, and that's why Ibanez gave this guitar a beautiful natural finish. That's not to mention that the oiled finish also makes this 5-string bass guitar a pleasure to play.
Soundgear Premium SR1305 Natural Flat
Plenty of thought was put into this bass guitar's hardware, and the titanium reinforced truss rod (adjustable on the side of the body) is proof of that. You'll also find Gotoh locking tuners, a Black Tusq string nut, and Monorail bridge saddles for extensive intonation options. Ibanez chose two Nordstrand Big Single pickups to give the Soundgear Premium SR1305 Natural Flat its voice.
Nordstrand pickups
The Nordstrand Big Single Vs offer a full, loud, aggressive sound. Along with a 3-band EQ, the preamp also has a mid-frequency switch and an EQ bypass switch. The bypass switch makes it possible to enjoy the natural sound of this bass guitar in combination with the Nordstrands. With all of these features combined, you can count on a great multi-genre instrument!

As usual, Japanese manufacturer Ibanez has chosen the NAMM show in Anaheim, California to launch their new bass guitars. What better time to introduce 24 brand new models than the world's largest music gear convention, after all? Some of these new basses are based on existing models, but feature new finishes or modifications. Others are completely new, ground-breaking instruments.
