General

Bass guitars from Ibanez' Bass Workshop are renowned for their high quality and refined appearance. The SRSC805 is certainly no exception. This 5-string bass is striking thanks to its poplar burl top, purpleheart fretboard and Natural Flat finish. The 5-piece neck is made of maple and purpleheart. The design known as 'Cerro' is extra stable and has lots of sustain thanks to the body being integrated in to the neck. Active Bartolini pickups also play an important role in the sustain.

No exact middle road

Despite the eye-catching appearance of the SRSC805, the Bartolini MK-1 single coils play a central role. These active pickups can function actively as well as passively. When the active EQ is bypassed, the treble control functions as a tone control and the balance and volume controls can also be used. With the EQ on, you have bass, mid and treble controls at your disposal with the ability to determine where the mid tones should be emphasised. With the switch next to the control, you can choose between 700, 450 or 250 Hz for a range of different sounds.

Compact heavyweight

This Bass Workshop model has a very special neck and fretboard. As already stated, the 5-piece neck is made of maple and tropical purpleheart. Purpleheart is also used for the fretboard which gives it a purple tint that contrasts beautifully with the oval abalone position markers. The mahogany body with poplar top includes a Mono-rail V bridge with five independently adjustable saddles to keep your strings in tune. The body is designed so that even the 24th fret is easily accessible.
