General

After the success of its Minion guitars, Jackson have introduced a line of Minion basses. If you're not familiar with the Minion models, they're essentially more compact versions of their full-size counterparts. In this case, the Jackson JS series Concert Bass Minion JSX1 is a real Jackson Concert bass guitar, only smaller. While 34 inches is the normal scale length, this model has a scale length that measures 28.6 inches, which makes it a super-short scale. It's not only perfect for younger players but guitarists and those looking for a more travel-friendly bass are sure to like it too. Because of its shorter length standard bass strings will be slightly looser and the sound will be more rounded overall.

JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1X: sound possibilities

The looser strings actually make this bass easier to play but you could also choose to fit thicker strings if you'd prefer a fuller sound. The neck is reinforced with graphite which means that this would be no problem. The poplar body, maple neck and an amaranth fretboard combine to produce a tone that is well-balanced while the pickups in PJ configuration are responsible for delivering it to your amplifier. The P pickup gives you a more robust sound while the J pickup is more funky. With two volume controls and a tone knob at your disposal, you can mix and match the sound to your heart's content.

Wrote the following about Jackson JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1X Satin Black
