In fact, any bassist is likely to enjoy the lower tension and lighter feel of the strings caused by the shorter scale length, since tone bends are made a touch easier, while the narrower spacing between the first few frets makes grabbing notes and chords with shorter fingers a much more natural experience.

The U5 Alder: A Multi-Sided Passive, Comfortable and Compact Bass

The foundation of this Sire model is formed by an alder body and bolt-on maple neck finished with the tight feel of a rounded fretboard. The thought put into the resonant transfer has resulted in a string-through-body bridge so that the fullness and clarity of the initial sound is registered with balance by the mounted pair of single-coil PJ-configured pickups. Either send that pure unadulterated P-plus-J sound to your amplifier or adjust the mix using the simple blend pot, then tweak the whole using the tone and volume pots.

Prachtige gitaar, netjes afgewerkt voor een mooie prijs. Speelt heel fijn. De kortere hals maakt het makkelijker, ondanks dat is het geluid prima! Niet twijfelen maar gewoon doen!

Deze Marcus Miller U5 NT MN Short aangeschaft vanwege handproblemen. De nek speelt super soepel en het basgeluid is vol en warm met prima hoge, midden- en lage tonen, passieve elementen klinken heel goed en ook geen hum. Je kunt heel veel tonen genereren. Verschil tussen long scale en short is niet hoorbaar. Prachtige gitaar ook om te zien en de afwerking vind ik echt top, hoge kwaliteit. De potmeters met aluminium doen perfect hun werk en er is geen kraak te horen. Je kunt de snaren ook door de body heen leiden, misschien ga ik dat nog een keer doen, standaard snaren spelen overigens prima. Vanuit de doos was het een kwestie van stemmen en geen verdere afstelling nodig. Ook naar andere short scale gitaren gekeken (fender). Deze Marcus Miller sprong er wat mij betreft uit qua looks, bespeelbaarheid en prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Als je op zoek bent naar een short scale bas dan zou ik niet verder kijken en voor deze Marcus Miller gaan, die overigens ook in een groene en sunburst variant verkrijgbaar is. Gewoon een top bas!

Bel instrument, beau son et diapason court idéal pour un guitariste comme moi qui se met aussi à la basse. Pour le même prix neuf je ne crois qu'il y ait beaucoup de concurrence.
