This refreshed version differs from its forerunner on three points: the mahogany body is now mounted with Marcus Standard J-Revolution pickups for a bright and transparent P-bass style sound; the edges of the rosewood fretboard have been considerately rounded off to improve playing comfort, and the battery compartment cover is made of ash. Sire have evidently been busy dotting all the 'i's when developing this V3.

The Marcus Miller V3-4: Comprehensive Tone Controls

This bass comes fitted with an 18V Marcus Heritage-3 preamplifier that guarantees powerful amplification of the pure, natural sound of this V3. Active mode can be switched off for a passive bass sound and besides the 3-band EQ, you get an extensive midrange control that can toggle from 80Hz to 2kHz, resulting in a fully customisable sound. Meanwhile, the steel Marcus Standard Bass Bridge, stable open gear machine heads and bone string nut complete the tonal balance.
