Yamaha MP AS 5C mouthpiece for alto saxophone

The Japanese company Yamaha makes a number of different mouthpiece models for saxophone, each with the quality you know and expect from Yamaha. For alto sax there are five different models available in the Standard series: 3C, 4C, 5C, 6C and 7C. The MP AS 5C mouthpiece is a favourite of soloists and has a flexible, colour-rich sound.

The Standard series

Mouthpieces from the Standard series are made from phenol material, and all of the specifications and playing characteristics of these mouthpieces are consistent in quality and musicality. Because of the shorter facing length, these mouthpieces are also very well suited for beginners, because they're easier to play without sacrificing quality.
