While the Epiphone Sheraton is similar to the legendary ES thinline archtops, blues legend John Lee Hooker himself stated that this semi-acoustic guitar is 'an out-did 335'! As well as blues, this model is also perfect for styles like rock, among others. Just like the Casino and Riviera, the Sheraton-II Pro is built exclusively at the 'House of Stathopoulo'. Epiphone already has quite a reputation for producing instruments that are excellent value for money and this model is no exception. Its beautiful finish and gold-plated hardware are just the start of some of the exceptional features this semi-acoustic guitar has to offer.
Sheraton-II Pro: Probuckers, coil-splitting and a NuBone XL string nut
The Sheraton-II Pro is equipped with two double-coil Probucker pickups that were inspired by the legendary PAF pickups designed by Seth Lover. They deliver the airy hollow-body sound with warmth and a light punch to your amplifier. Whenever you want more sparkle in your sound, simply pull on one of the volume controls to active the coil split and enjoy single-coil tones. Incidentally, these Alnico II humbuckers are essentially made of the same parts that Gibson uses for its pickups. The LockTone bridge and tailpiece make it quick and easy to change strings. You don't have to worry about tuning stability either thanks to the Grover Rotomatic machine heads and the Graph Tech NuBone XL string nut.

I found it difficult to choose, but eventually selected the Epiphone as to me it had the slightly better tone and although it was the cheapest, seemed to be better constructed and finished.
I am now playing the guitar in and am delighted with my purchase as it is generating sounds which are not possible with my Strat.
This was an early Black Friday purchase costing £605, which is amazing value. Not only were Bax one of the few traders to stock a black Sheraton II Pro, but the guitar was delivered within 48 hours of placing the order.
The set up out of the box was reasonable, but I have decided to get the guitar professionally set up and will probably change the strings. I look forward to playing live in a few weeks time. I am impressed with Bax and will use them again.

Wat een schitterende afwerking zeg; nergens op de gitaar kan ik ook maar het kleinste foutje of mismatch vinden. De lak, de zwarte verf, de binding, de frets, alles is keurig netjes en zeer strak afgewerkt.
Ik was voornemens om de pickups evt. te vervangen voor Seymour Duncan 59’s maar na deze Probuckers nu een tijdje gehoord te hebben ga ik dat niet meer doen. De Probuckers klinken fantastisch en laat ik lekker zitten. Alles aan deze Sheraton is eigenlijk zoals ik wil en die ik lekker standaard laat.
Ik heb nu verschillende gitaren in bezit van zeer goedkoop naar bijv. deze duurdere prijsklasse en hoewel ik het eigenlijk niet wilde toegeven doe ik dat wel…de gitaren in de wat duurdere prijsklassen bieden echt meer gitaar. Niet zozeer in klank ofzo maar zeker in afwerking, bouwkwaliteit en de manier waarop bijv. veel meer aandacht aan de vorm van de neck gegeven wordt.
Deze Sheraton II Pro is in ieder geval een fantastische gitaar en zonder twijfel een zeer goede aankoop geweest.
Levering door Bax ging snel en probleemloos.
