The Gretsch G5420T Electromatic Classic Hollow Body gives you that sweet, fresh Gretsch sound as well as the brightness and excellent resonance shaped by a special trestle-block bracing system. A GraphTech NuBone nut and Adjustomatic bridge also help to balance the foundation sound, offering dependable tuning stability while the Classic C-profile neck and the 22 medium jumbo frets of the 12-inch-radiussed fretboard take care of high-level playing comfort. Meanwhile, authentic details such as the small '50s G6120 headstock, the vintage-style open-back tuners and plexi scratch-plate turn the G5420T into a real eye-catcher.

The G5420T: FT-5E Filter'Tron and Bigsby B60 Vibrato

Two potent Filter'tron pickups take care of the amplified sound, where the warmth of a humbucker gets combined with the sparkle of a single-coil pickup and a set of trusty controls, including a special volume pot furnished with a treble bleed function so the trebles retain prominence, even at lower volume levels. Last but not least, and to support tasteful pitch bends, Gretsch have kitted out this gorgeous semi-acoustic hollowbody guitar with a classic Bigsby B60 Vibrato tailpiece.

Gretsch G5420T Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Bigsby Two-Tone Anniversary Green Semi-Acoustic Guitar

Een hele toffe gitaar voor een fijn prijsje.
Ik was op zoek naar een Gretsch gitaar om wat surf en rockabilly geluiden uit te krijgen. Dat kan met deze G5420T.

De gitaar klinkt erg aangenaam, met een slapback delay of met een natte spring reverb, maar verassend genoeg ook om een punk plaat op te nemen! Niet gek ook eigenlijk als je naar Tim Armstrong van Rancid kijkt.

De Bigsby werkt goed en soepel maar de gitaar vraagt wel wat dikkere snaren als je de Bigsby veel gebruikt. Met dunne snaren blijft de gitaar niet heel lekker gestemd, maar zodra ik er een .11-.52 setje op had gezet, bleef die wel gestemd. Een wound G-snaar helpt ook onwijs met tuning stability. Ik haal voortaan dus een .11-.52 pakje met een losse .18W snaar.

De hals is dun en makkelijk te bespelen, het fretboard heeft mooi donker hout en de gitaar is in z’n geheel goed afgewerkt.

De kleur moet je werkelijk in levende lijven zien. Er is simpelweg geen foto te vinden waar de gitaar zo mooi is als in het echt. Hij is veel minder Neon groen dan op de foto’s, en eerder vintage groen.
