In 2013, this Rosa Red Gretsch G5620T-CB was added to Gretsch's budget-friendly Electromatic series. The hollow-body electric guitar is equipped with a 'center block,' a solid, interior block that runs along the length of the body, ensuring a lively sound with more sustain and reducing feedback at a high volume, as well as high-gain distortion. The G5620T-CB has a 44mm thick single-cutaway thinline body with beautiful vintage-style 'cat's eye' sound holes, and the semi-acoustic instrument is equipped with two feisty humbuckers: one Black Top Filter'Tron in bridge position and one Gretsch Super HiLo'tron at the neck. The latter is voiced for a clear clean sound with a fat bass.
Gretsch G5620T-CB Electromatic: construction and hardware
The Gretsch G5620T-CB has a body construction made of high-grade 5-ply maple and both its arched top and arched back are fitted with good-looking bindings. The neck of the guitar is also made of maple and features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12.5-inch radius and Neo-Classic Thumbnail position markers. The G5620T-CB is equipped with a 3-way pickup switch and five G-arrow controls (a volume and a tone knob for each pickup and a master volume knob), and features a fully adjustable Adjusto-matic bridge with a Bigsby-licensed B70 vibrato tailpiece. Additionally, the guitar is fitted with a set of solid Grover kidney-shaped tuners and a black pickguard adorned with a white Gretsch logo.
