Despite its solid-body appearance, this Georgia Green Gretsch G5655T-CB is a real hollow-body guitar. A solid 'center block' runs along the length of its 44m thin, hollow Double Jet body, enabling you to produce the famous Gretsch sound without suffering feedback at a high volume or high-gain distortion. It also provides the instrument with more sustain and an exceptionally lively sound. This green Gretsch G5655T-CB is equipped with two feisty humbucker pickups: a Black Top Filter'Tron near the bridge and a Super HiLo'Tron in neck position. Together they ensure sparkling cleans and creamy distortions.
Characteristics of the Gretsch G5655T Electromatic Center-Block
The Gretsch G5655T-CB has a body construction made of high-grade 5-ply maple and both its arched top and arched back are fitted with good-looking bindings. The neck of the guitar is also made of maple and features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12.5-inch radius and Neo-Classic Thumbnail position markers. The guitar features various controls (a 3-way pickup switch, a volume knob for each pickup, a tone knob for the bridge pickup and a master volume knob) and an Adjusto-Matic bridge in combination with a Bigsby-licensed B50 vibrato tailpiece. Additionally, the G5655T-CB is fitted with a set of solid Grover kidney-shaped tuners, four G-arrow knobs and a black pickguard adorned with the Gretsch logo.
