The Gretsch G5655T-CB Electromatic Center-Block is a semi-acoustic guitar which, despite its solid-body look, offers you the amazing hollow-body Gretsch sound with all the benefits of a center block. The solid spruce center block runs along the entire length of the 44mm slim Double Jet body, providing the guitar with a lively and high-gain friendly sound and offering you increased feedback control. The modern Super HiLo'Tron humbucker near the neck has been voiced to produce a clean sparkle with a rugged low-end, without any humming. In combination with the Black Top Filter'Tron bridge pickup, it provides you with a remarkably powerful sound.
Characteristics of the Gretsch G5655T Electromatic Center-Block
The body of the Gretsch G5655T-CB is constructed from high-grade 5-ply maple. Both top and back are arched and fitted with pretty bindings. The neck of the guitar is also made of maple and features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12.5-inch radius and Neo-Classic Thumbnail position markers. The guitar features various controls (a 3-way pickup switch, a volume knob for each pickup, a tone knob for the bridge pickup and a master volume knob) and an Adjusto-Matic bridge in combination with a Bigsby-licensed B50 vibrato tailpiece. Additionally, the G5655T-CB is fitted with a set of solid Grover kidney-shaped tuners, four G-arrow knobs and a black pickguard adorned with the Gretsch logo.
