General

The Guild M-75 is already quite a distinctive instrument, but this M-75G is even more exclusive. This limited model is finished with a golden metallic top and stained mahogany sides and back. The M-75G actually belongs to the Newark St. Collection, which is home to Guild's legendary models from the past come back to life and equipped with modern features for optimal playability. This attractive Aristocrat time machine is hand-made for optimal looks and sound.

Guild M-75G: body

Beneath the golden top layer is a laminated spruce arch top. The back of the body is made of solid mahogany, and the sides are laminated. Beautiful ivory white bindings grace the edges of the body and rosewood fretboard, which tops a three-part neck of mahogany and maple. A dual-action neck pen ensures excellent stability, and you'll find mother-of-pearl block inlays to guide the way along the 22-fret fingerboard. Finally, a black headstock with the beautiful Guild logo tops it all off, and features stable Grover Sta-Tite tuners.

Bridge and electronics

Not only does the Guild Floating Adjusto-Matic look great, but this adjustable bridge with a harp-shaped tailpiece is technically solid as well. Two Frequency Tested single-coil pickups by Guild are responsible for the tone generation. The pickups are even modelled after the distinctive sounding soapbars from the '60s, and they each have their own rotary dials for tone and volume. A striking orange 3-way pickup switch is featured in the traditional position for a single-cut guitar, and a dark Opaque Plexi pickguard fits in perfectly with the golden lacquer and Clear Amber rotary knobs. Suffice it to say, the limited M-75G is a beautiful nod to the history of Guild guitars.
