General
This beautiful Ibanez GB10-BS is the signature-model by jazz legend George Benson. This hollow-body guitar was introduced in 1978 and is the very first and therefore the longest running artist model. This Brown Sunburst GB10 is ideal for warm as well as clear jazz sounds, depending on which pickup you use. Whether playing amplified or unplugged, you immediately feel that you're dealing with a high-end instrument. This guitar was made by hand in Japan by Ibanez's most experienced guitar builders.
Features of the Ibanez GB10-BS
The body of the GB10 is made of maple with a thick, spruce top. The Prestige-style, 3-piece neck is also made of maple, fitted with a 22-fret, ebony fretboard finished with pearloid block inlays. These wood types in combination with the comfortable, slim body provide the full sound of a full-size jazz guitar and, since the GB10 is mounted with two specially designed, floating mini-humbuckers, you get a warm, round sound with minimum feedback. This guitar is the culmination of George Benson’s lifelong playing experience.
Hollow Body with Unique Features
The Ibanez GB10 includes some rather unique details. The extra hard, height-adjustable ebony bridge transfers string vibration to the body with pristine clarity. The specially moulded tailpiece has a separate locking system for the treble and bass strings and at the back, you can find a strap button. There's room for a strap button at the neck which comes separately so you can decide where you want to place it. Every detail of the GB10 has been intelligently thought through, from the height-adjustable bridge pickup and bone and brass top-saddle, to the rubber rings that encompass the volume and tone knobs for extra grip.
