What's better than one Aston Starlight microphone? That's right! Two Starlight microphones! After the success of the Origin and Spirit mics, Aston developed this Starlight small-diaphragm condenser mic, which is the very first mic in the world to be equipped with a laser! This makes reproducing mic positions on stage or in the studio even easier, resulting in consistent recording by marking specific drum setups, for example. The Starlight's metal housing has also undergone the renowned tumbling treatment to achieve that chic, industrial look.
Super strong material
The Aston Starlight has a sintered mic head. Sintering, which is the process of forming a solid mass of material by heat or pressure without melting it, is not really a new technique in the world of microphones, but Aston have breathed new life into it with their Starlight mic. During this process, the contact points between the grains increase in size, resulting in an extremely hard material that's strong and also has perfect acoustic porosity. If you're still not convinced of its audio quality, perhaps this fact will help: the cardioid capsule in this mic was chosen by a panel of 50 top producers after they took a series of blind hearing tests!
Voice switching
This mic's voice switching feature is very handy, as it allows you to adjust your tonal characteristics and switch between a vintage, modern or hybrid sound. The mic filters and switches between the capsule and the PCB so you can find the sweet spot for your application which is useful for vocals as well as instruments like drums, strings or amplifying (guitar)amp cabinets. No matter which setting you choose, each one has been fine-tuned for optimal utilisation, making the Aston Starlight microphone a worthy addition to any high-quality studio or stage!
