The NT55 matched pair consists of two very compact, balanced condenser microphones that are fit for a variety of applications. This set excels because of its wide dynamic range and complete frequency response.

The electronic circuit of the NT55 features a 3-setting variable PAD of 0 dB, -10 dB or 20 dB. It is delivered including two different condenser capsules, so that you are provided with a variety of pickup patterns.

Please note: it is customary with Rode microphones that one of the XLR pins (the grounding) extends a little bit further than the others.

Wrote the following about RØDE NT55 matched pair condenser studio microphone

Sinds 1 week gebruik ik de NT55's als afluistering in een theaterzaal. Hiermee wordt het zaalgeluid opgenomen voor de geluidsdichte regiecabine, van waar het zaalgeluid geregeld wordt. Het is hierbij erg belangrijk dat het geluid betrouwbaar wordt weergegeven. (In de regiecabine wordt het geluid weergegeven door twee fostex monitoren en een Shure 440 hoofdtelefoon.)
De microfoons hangen achterin de zaal op ongeveer 6 meter van elkaar in AB stereo configuratie. Uiteraard gebuik ik de omni capsels.

De geluidskwaliteit van de microfoons is opmerkelijk goed. Vooral met de hoofdtelefoon is het geluid heel ruimtelijk. (Het lijkt alsof je niet in een geluidsdichte ruimte staat, maar gewoon in de zaal.) Alle frequenties komen goed door, zonder dat het geluid gekleurd wordt. Kleine details zoals het omslaan van een papiertje tot heftig gedreun van de subwoofers, je hoort alles.

De mics worden in een stevig plastic koffertje geleverd. Daarin zitten naast de mics nog de cardiodide capsels, windkapjes, statiefhouders met extra draadbussen en wat boekjes en een ijkcertificaat van beide microfoons.

De algemene bouwkwaliteit is erg hoog. Zelden microfoons gehad die zo stevig in de houders klikken.(Dat is erg prettig, want ze hangen boven het publiek.)

Al met al ben ik erg tevreden met de aankoop. Zeker voor deze prijs (vergeleken met andere omnidirectionele mics zijn ze vrij goedkoop). Wat mij betreft is het een echte aanrader. Goed geluid, goed gebouwd, tien jaar garantie. Prima.
