For specific situations, a small diaphragm is preferable to a large diaphragm. So if you want to go for the small diaphragm, the AKG C151 is a very good and affordable choice. AKG is not exactly the least bit of brands, it belongs to the select club of well-known and renowned classic microphone brands, you can't go wrong with that. This C151 can handle a decent sound pressure level; a cosy 143 dB, and that with a very low noise floor. This makes it a very good mic for music recordings, and then you really have to think about both the roughness of electric guitars and the delicacy of a violin. And of course, it's also a great mic for podcasting, gaming, broadcasting, video blogging and more. AKG's C Series is a series of some value in itself, so this cheaper tube is extra special then!
