Rode’s NT5 has long since made its mark! If you need a pencil microphone in the NT5 tradition, the Rode M5 will do you just fine! It consists of a matched pair of two condenser pencil microphones and is attractively priced. This set combines Rode sound quality and versatility, and the microphones are a properly matched pair: they have been chosen because their respective sensitivities are less than 1 dB apart from one another. The Rode M5: Technology

The Rode M5 is a low-noise microphone with a wide frequency response. It is excellently suited for live recordings and studio sessions, . and can be used in a mono as well as stereo capacity. The 0.5-inch small-diaphragm capsule has a cardioid pickup pattern and a response of 20 to 20,000 Hz. A +24/+48V power supply of a mixer or interface is required. With a separately available camera shockmount, the M5 can also be used as a video microphone.

Applications

Obviously, you can use the Rode M5s in an overhead pairing. Separately available stereo bars can be used to do so and these allow you to enjoy the transparent stereo coverage of this matched pair. The M5 set is delivered including two RM5 microphone clips and two WS5 windscreens, so that the set can instantly be used for a variety of recording applications - from acoustic pianos and drums to choirs and strings. As the set is also attractively priced, it is a wonderful purchase for any ambitious musician or recording engineer.
