General
Rode’s NT5 has long since made its mark! If you need a pencil microphone in the NT5 tradition, the Rode M5 will do you just fine! It consists of a matched pair of two condenser pencil microphones and is attractively priced. This set combines Rode sound quality and versatility, and the microphones are a properly matched pair: they have been chosen because their respective sensitivities are less than 1 dB apart from one another. The result: completely balanced stereo recordings! To further prove this fact, an authenticity certificate is included.
The Rode M5: Technology
The Rode M5 is a low-noise microphone with a wide frequency response. It is excellently suited for live recordings and studio sessions, . and can be used in a mono as well as stereo capacity. The 0.5-inch small-diaphragm capsule has a cardioid pickup pattern and a response of 20 to 20,000 Hz. A +24/+48V power supply of a mixer or interface is required. With a separately available camera shockmount, the M5 can also be used as a video microphone.
Applications
Obviously, you can use the Rode M5s in an overhead pairing. Separately available stereo bars can be used to do so and these allow you to enjoy the transparent stereo coverage of this matched pair. The M5 set is delivered including two RM5 microphone clips and two WS5 windscreens, so that the set can instantly be used for a variety of recording applications - from acoustic pianos and drums to choirs and strings. As the set is also attractively priced, it is a wonderful purchase for any ambitious musician or recording engineer.

Great little mics, excellent price & quality, I bought my set specifically for making a pocket-able portable wildlife & nature recording kit, that I could take virtually anywhere along with my Tascam recorder. While most people would agree that these are probably not the best mics for wildlife & nature recording, I found the sound quality to be superb & a very good compromise to carrying the full kit out on shorter trips. On longer field trips I still take more suitable equipment, but I am glad I bought these M5's for the portability & ease of use, now I can pull a small reliable kit out of my pocket & record virtually anywhere...

Brilliant things, such an amazing build and the clips are just perfect. Response is a little treble heavy. They pick up the room acoustics well but not too much, great for an open sound.

Hey - highly recommend these mics, I'm very pleased with the pickup and can't wait to try them on our school choir - they will be just the job.
BTW they didn't come with stands, this might be obvious but I don't have any personally but the school will have so I forgot to add them to basket

Wat een top microfoons! Ik gebruik ze voornamelijk als overheads om diverse koren uit te versterken (9 tot 70 personen) en deze microfoons zijn daar zeer geschikt voor. Daarnaast zit er een microfoonclip van zeer hoge kwaliteit bij. En dat voor deze prijs. Ik heb 3 paar gekocht om te testen en zal er binnenkort nog 2 paar bij bestellen om al onze oude OH's te vervangen. En uiteraard weer top geleverd door bax.

ik gebruik al jaren de nt5 van rode. nu de m5 erbij.
met 4 of 6 van deze mics boven een koor heb je super geluid.
ze doen niet echt onder aan de nt5 maar zijn wel goedkoper.
ook bij akoestische instrumenten een aanrader. ook heb ik ze boven het toneel hangen bij toneeluitvoeringen.
ik vind ze top. heel blij mee

Deze set gekocht als audio microfoon op mijn Blackmagic Ursa , ik had eerder via Amazon goedkope mics gekocht van totaal 80 euro. maar bij testen bleken deze erg veel ruis te geven, op advies van een audio specialist deze besteld en geprobeerd, wat een verademing, geluid is echt helemaal prima, ruisniveau is onvergelijkbaar met de goedkope set, vrijwel niet aanwezig. Microfoon is zeer gevoelig, met je hand op 5 cm ervoor langs bewegen geeft al utislag. (plopkap is bijgeleverd dus geen probleem) Geluid is ook erg natuurlijk dus ik heb hoge verwachtingen van het volgende concert wat ik ga opnemen!

Top! Voor deze prijs ga je geen beter paar condensator microfoons vinden. Ik gebruik ze zelf als overheads voor drum opnames en de cimbalen klinken echt yummie!!
