General

Many well-known, old jazz records feature drumheads made of calfskin. Nowadays, heads are made of synthetic materials, but Remo's P3-0514-FA sheet has the same warm and full sound. It is a single-layer sheet with a thickness of 10 mil with an extra outer ring at the bottom of the sheet. This attenuates unwanted overtones. So you get an excellent balance between response and clear sound. The coating on the surface makes it excellent for playing with brushes.
