Meinl CA12T traditional 12-inch caixa snare drum

Meinl's CA12T is a traditional aluminium caixa snare drum with a 12-inch diameter. The difference between this model and the CA12, is that the CA12T has an extra deep shell. This traditional model is called the 'caixa malacacheta' in Brazil. It provides the great quality you'd expect from a Meinl product, and offers a bright sound with excellent resonance.

Guitar strings and tuning system.

The CA12T features two pairs of guitar strings that span the synthetic head, offering a powerful snare effect. Furthermore, the caixa is equipped with a professional snare straining mechanism. It works by means of the countersunk bolt heads that keep the interchangeable drumhead in place and in tune. Replacing the drumheads is easy as well, as Meinl included a tuning key with the caixa.
