Pearl's MUS1455S is a 14 x 5.5-inch steel snare drum from the attractively-priced Modern Utility series. It's made of 1 mm-thick steel and sounds crisp at lower volumes and more open at higher volumes. The shell hardware is good quality which makes the snare easy to tune. It's perfect for use as either a primary or a side snare.
