General
The 14 inch by 6.5 inch Pearl StaveCraft Thai Oak snare is genuinely something different. While the shell is shaped by two thick plies of Thai oak, the surprising bit is the blocks of Exotic Makha that have been sandwiched in between. This construction is referred to as the Pearl DadoLoc joint, and makes this model 50% stronger than your average snare. Combine the 25mm thick shell wall that results with the natural resonance of oak and you've got a supremely clear, immense and mix smashing sound that packs crisp punch.
The StaveCraft Thai Oak Snare: Hardware
While the shell is important, the hardware is just as crucial. So this edition of the StaveCraft has been fitted with Pearl's own Mastercraft die-cast tension hoops to ensure a level of attack that's able to match the clear projection of the oak. Meanwhile, the SR-150 Click Lock strainer prevents the mat from slowly loosening and the set of Swivel tube lugs firmly secure the tension rods.
