General
The Tama LGW1465 S.L.P. G-Walnut 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum has a 10-ply walnut shell that is 9mm thick. This type of wood delivers a warm and powerful sound that even borders on aggressive at times. A full tone is the result of a snappy set of 30 carbon steel snare wires. The Sound Arc Hoops on this snare are designed especially for the S.L.P series and bend inwards. They guarantee a sharp attack but are kinder on your hands than the die-cast hoops by Tama. Tension on the drum head is maintained by a set of Brass Tube Lugs. In its entirety, this G-Walnut snare is suitable for prominent, louder styles of music like rock, hard-rock or R&B.
S.L.P.: Sound Lab Project
Tama knows like no other how important the snare drum is when it comes to a drummer's sound. According to the brand's philosophy, every drummer will go in search of their ideal snare at some point. With these drummers in mind, Tama developed the S.L.P. series, a.k.a the Sound Lab Project. Each snare in this range has its own unique tonal characteristics, which makes them suitable for various playing styles and genres. They do have one thing in common though, and that's Tama's well-known unsurpassed quality.
