This Tama LMPM1455F Vintage Poplar Maple 14 x 5.5-inch snare drum isn't called Vintage for nothing. Its maple and poplar shell delivers a warm, round tone that's just right for more traditional musical genres like blues, country and jazz. In the shell, there are Sound Focus Rings that emphasise this snare's unique tonal characteristics. It's also equipped with Mighty Steel hoops with eight lugs, which contribute to the snare's vintage sound because they offer more resonance in the wood as opposed to hoops with ten holes. Because the hoops are flanged, rim shots are even more defined but are kinder to your hands than die-cast models.
