General
Maple wood (maple) is a very frequently used wood when it comes to drums - and with good reason. Similarly, this Tama MES1455B Starclassic Maple snare drum is made of no less than eight layers of maple, with a shell thickness of 7 mm. Maple has the property of giving off a very fine all-round sound with a warm, clear tone and good resonance - ideal for snare drums! This snare features an Exotic Lacquer finish, as well as very nice black nickel-plated shell hardware. You also get die-cast Die-Cast tensioning edges, Starclassic Lugs tensioning blocks and a Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon string mat with 20 strings. The Linear Drive Strainer string tensioner is removable in its entirety with the string mat, making it easy to replace your resonance sheet and then put your strings right back with the correct tension!
