General
The Tama MES1455U Starclassic Maple is a 14-inch diameter, 5.5-inch depth snare drum with a very cool finish. That's because the snare features an Exotic Lacquer finish, as well as Smoked Black Nickel shell hardware! The shell itself is made of no less than eight layers of maple wood, with a shell thickness of a total of 7 mm. In terms of sound, you can expect a fine all-rounder, with bright, warm projection and fine resonance. The chrome-plated, moulded tensioning edges ensure a balanced, warm sound and also contribute to stable tuning. The Linear Drive Strainer string tensioner allows you to be able to replace your resonance sheet without having to loosen the tension of your strings. You can take off the entire string mat with the strainer in one go!
