Tama's Starphonic series boasts a number of impressive improvements and innovative ideas. Their Grooved Hoop, for instance, has a special shape that enhances the natural tone and projects it upwards, while it accomodates the claw hooks that attach to the Freedom Lugs. With these lugs, the tension rods are hooked onto the hoop and pull it down when tightened. This makes it very easy to replace the batter head, as you only need to loosen the tension the rods and tilt them away form the hoop.

The Starphonic Maple is also equipped with a set of very sensitive Snappy Snare snare wires, which are held tightly in place by the Linear Drive snare strainer. This strainer has a detachable butt-end, which means that you can quickly and easily replace the resonant head without losing your tension settings. It is obvious that Tama has put a lot of time, thought and effort into their Starphonic snares, and with its great presence and warm tone, this snare drum will be a valuable addition to your sound!
