Transform the sound of your snare drum with these 14-inch, 42-strand Pearl SN-1442D Ultra-Sound snare wires, with D-shaped end plate. With its 42 snare strands, the SN-1442D creates quite a dry sound with fewer overtones. They do, however, feature Pearl's patented Graduated Tension wires with strategically positioned looser and tighter wires. The looser wires vibrate at even the slightest touch of the batter head, while the tighter wires will maintain contact with the head when you turn the volume up to 11. This means that Pearl's Ultra-Sound snare wires have a much larger dynamic range than most other snares. The D-shaped end plates create more tension on the centre wires for maximum sensitivity, making this snare especially well suited for wood snare drums.
