Ecodear is a biomass-based plastic, and therefore the soft, round tone of the Yamaha YRS-401 is also close to wooden recorders. The slightly curved blowing action in the mouthpiece provides slightly more resistance, but therefore gives better breath control resulting in a nicer expression and projection.
