General
Nowadays, producing plastic can also be done in a way that is less harmful to the environment. Yamaha is the first manufacturer to use the material Ecodear for the production of musical instruments. Ecodear is a biomass-based plastic, and therefore the soft, round tone of the Yamaha YRS-401 is also close to wooden recorders. Other benefits include improved breath response and control in the high register.
Appearance
Nature is also reflected in the appearance, with the yellow and white that are also found in corn being chosen. The slightly curved blowing action in the mouthpiece provides slightly more resistance, but therefore gives better breath control resulting in a nicer expression and projection. The flute has a German bore and the sixth and seventh holes are double-drilled. This fine flute comes with an equally eco-friendly cotton carrying case.
