General
The Cranborne Audio N22H is a headphone amplifier and analogue snake box in one that can send four balanced signals down a single CAT5 cable so you can bridge gaps of up to 100 metres without the risk of crosstalk or signal loss. A more than convenient bit of kit when it comes to recording, monitoring and setting up, the N22H can be used for a lot of things, including linking a microphone preamp in the recording space with the mixer in the control room. Meanwhile, the built-in headphone amplifier allows you to listen in on what the microphone is capturing, which is helpful when setting up to record, but you also have the option to listen to what's happening in the control room, which is perfect for talkback and monitoring.

Wrote the following about Cranborne Audio N22H Headphone Amplifier with CAT5 Snake
Heel handig dit kastje in combinatie met het CAST systeem van Cranborne. Bij mij thuis in gebruik in combinatie met mijn EC2 preamp. Je kunt deze met een standaardnetwerkkabel tot 100 meter gebruiken om van elke ruimte in je huis makkelijk tot opnameplek om te toveren. Want je hebt je mic aansluitingen en headphone amp in 1 kastje zitten en is dus een kwestie van in je EC2 pluggen, opstelling maken in andere ruimte en klaar. Dat kan natuurlijk ook met een enorm aantal losse kabels en een losse headphone amp, maar dat is veel rommeliger en ook veel duurder. Slim systeem dus dat CAST, zeker voor thuisgebruikers die flexibel willen kunnen zijn.
