The Plectrum Series Thomastik AC110 Hybrid Wound strings comes with lower tension bass strings and offer a similar quality of sound and presence than that of a classical guitar. The combination of an incredibly flexible steel core and the bronzed flat-winding of the A, D, and G strings also gives this set the lighter feel and mellow timbre of jazz strings.

What makes these strings unique is that they actually combine both flatwound and standard roundwound strings. So the low-E has been roundwound with bronze to fill out the low-end, while the silk-wound round core lowers the tension. It's this alone that also makes these Thomastik Plectrum Series strings a comfortable fit for older, more fragile guitars with a weaker bracing or otherwise more delicate construction.
