This is the AC111 Light string set from Thomastik-Infeld's popular Plectrum series of strings, suitable for steel-string acoustic guitars. This hand-crafted set of strings is different from regular wound strings because of its low tension and its warm, soft sound that is almost like that of nylon strings. To achieve this, the Thomastik AC111 uses a highly flexible round core with real silk inlays between the core and the windings. Thanks the bronze flat wound A, D and G strings, this set also offers the smooth feel of jazz strings.

Thomastik AC111: Hybrid Wound

Unusual about this set, is that it contains both round wound and flat wound strings. The bronze round wound low E string has enough mass to produce a rich tone, while the round core with silk inlays provides lower overall tension. That makes the Thomastik Plectrum guitar strings ideal for older guitars with weak bracing or other fragile parts of their construction. Finally, the Thomastik-Infeld AC111 set features Light strings, with gauges ranging from .011 to .050 inches.
