The CD-140S is one of Fender's most successful acoustic guitar models. It's no wonder considering this dreadnought offers amazing value for money. This is the Satin version that has a matte finish. Apart from that it has the same excellent sound properties and comfortable playability as the high-gloss version. If you're looking for a competitively priced acoustic guitar with a full sound and real Fender quality, then the CD140S Satin is a risk-free option.
CD-140S Satin: solid construction
To a great extent the body determines the overall sound of an acoustic guitar. That's why Fender has chosen a solid spruce top that offers excellent resonance and brightness. Warmth and volume are added to the CD-140S' sound through the use of laminated mahogany for the sides and back. The sound of this dreadnought is also partly thanks to the solid construction, with an X bracing making it very reliable.
An eye for detail
The Fender CD-140S Satin is overflowing with small details that elevate it to a higher level. Examples include the elegant pearl sound hole rosette and the tortoise shell pickguard. The subtle satin finish allows the natural wood to stand out. A rosewood bridge with GraphTech NuBone saddles ensures tuning stability. Lastly, the front strap button has a stabilising block so that you can attach a strap securely.

Tuesday 13 October 2015 By Richard | Bax MusicThe Fender CD-140S Natural and the CD-140SE in Natural and Black now also come in a matte satin finish, in addition to the existing high-gloss models. The satin finish really allows the beautiful wood grains to stand out and the sound produced is a little more open.
