This compact G9500 Jim Dandy Flat Top acoustic justifiably looks every bit like it just stepped out of the Roots Collection by Gretsch. This dapper little character is a direct tribute to Gretsch's classic Rex models from the 30s, 40s and 50s and has been crafted using carefully-selected wood varieties for a warm, pleasing sound.
The G9500 Jim Dandy: Warm and Flexible
The dark, two-Colour Sunburst finish is accented by a white pickguard and matching white position markers. The 18-fret walnut fingerboard adds even more playing comfort to that of the C-profile nato neck and finish the effortlessly easy-going, warm-sounding and feeling of the Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy acoustic.

Hadn't played for ten years. Thought lockdown was a good time to start again. So bought this. It hasn't disappointed. I'm going back to my origins, blues, and the guitar has the right sound. Keeps in tune very well, set up is good. The only thing is, the action may be slightly high -- or it may be that I haven't played for so long. Very happy with the instrument. Also with the service.

I am a classic settee noodler and some time ago decided to treat myself to a parlour style guitar. After a lot of research and review reading I decided on a Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy flat top. The best price I was able to get was from Bax Music. I was able to pick a delivery date via their web site and the delivery cost was included. The guitar arrived well packaged and damage free. Its a lovely little guitar and emits a great boxy, almost banjo sound which I love, its nice and loud too if you want it to be. Its easy to play and well set up, although the action is a little high for me as you would expect and will need adjusting a bit. The guitar itself is beautifully made and solid with an unusual matte finish. If you fancy one of these go to YouTube, there are a lot of reviews on there and many good examples of one of these being played. Bax music themselves were easy to deal with, I purchased mine using PayPal through them. The guitar arrived early on the day arranged. Excellent guitar, price and excellent service from Bax. I would recommend them without reservation.

Wat een heerlijke gitaar is dit! Ziet er goed uit en klinkt als geen ander.
Deze parlor combineert het authentieke blues geluid met een handzaam formaat. De mensuur is 24 inch en de hals is voorzien van een topkam van normale grootte. Ideaal voor fingerstyle (delta) blues.
De afwerking is geweldig: recht uit de doos bespeelbaar. Geen hoge actie of verkeerde intonatie.
Echt een gitaar voor de liefhebbers van akoestische blues. Voor wie twijfelt: kijk eens even rond op YouYube. Je weet niet wat je hoort .... :)

Je débute à la guitare et cherchais une guitare qui a un son qui me parle. Après plusieurs comparatifs et présentations en ligne, c'est sur la Jim Dandy que je flashe. Bax m'a permis de la recevoir rapidement, dans une emballage à toute épreuve mais sans excès de plastique ou autre. Et après l'avoir reçue, je l'apprécie encore plus que ce que je ne pensais. Et, cerise sur le gâteau, le look vintage est aussi plaisant que le son.

Goed klinkende flattop met dat karakteristieke geluid van de oude blues en country. Met een slide klinkt deze gitaar ook erg leuk. De stemmechanieken waren wat stijf toen ze nieuw waren maar worden wat prettiger in gebruik naarmate je ze meer hebt gebruikt.
De afwerking is ook goed, zeker voor de prijs. Kleur is ook erg prachtig. ik ben er heel erg blij mee.

Je krijgt waar je voor betaald. Vrij plat geluid maar ok, lekker halsje en formaat, maar slechte tuners, en vals+niet te intoneren.

De laatste zes exemplaren van dit tovergitaartje zullen wel snel weg zijn want deze Gretsch G9500 verkoopt zichzelf en is werkelijk een klein wonder met een geweldige klank (ook al is die helemaal gelamineerd). Voelt goed aan en speelt vlot en licht. Een gitaar die er gewoon bij hoort, (bij de verzameling). Kennelijk heeft deze fabrikant haar grote kennis en ervaring benut om een topper te maken voor een heel klein prijsje. Ook zeer geschikt als begeleiding bij zang of/en bluesharp. De afwerking is bovendien erg fraai en compleet, hooguit moet de lage E op de nut een klein beetje nog ingezaagd worden, maar voorlopig speelt het fantastisch licht soepel en snel. Ideaal voor mee op vakantie of om ergens indruk te maken door met zo'n klein maar gaaf instument te spelen. Kortom een echte aanrader.
