General
This attractively-priced Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy parlour guitar has a Vintage White finish to go along with its authentic sound. It's based on the REX models that were popular during the 1930s, '40s and '50s, only this guitar is even better.
G9500 Jim Dandy: wood types and sound
The original REX models had a body made of pine which gave them a characteristic sound, but proved not to be very durable. That's why this G9500 is made of agathis which produces a similar sound and is much more robust as well. Some Parlour guitars can sound quite sharp, but agathis ensures that this model's bright sound is warm too. Other wood types used in its construction include nato for the neck and rosewood for the fretboard.
Other details
In addition to the Vintage White finish, this model also has notable design features including the classic logo on the headstock, the characteristic 'G' on the pickguard and the top-load bridge.
