You can't judge a book by its cover, nor a guitar by its size! This James Neligan Lis-P Lismore parlour guitar is compact, which means it's easily manageable and delivers that unmistakable parlour sound. Its volume is actually quite impressive for a guitar of this size because its top is made of solid spruce, which means it is able to offer more volume than any other wood type.

Spruce and mahogany

To complement the clear, defined spruce sound, this guitar's sides and back are made of mahogany which adds plenty of warmth. It also features a rosewood fretboard that adds warm overtones to the total sound. All in all, it offers a balanced sound where trebles, mids, and bass tones all come through in the mix. As far as hardware is concerned, James Neligan chose classic machine heads and a TUSQ string nut and bridge saddle.

Looks

Sound and ergonomic playability are one thing, but appearance is important too. The wood inlay binding around the body and soundhole of the Lis-P is done with skill and precision. The headstock is covered in a layer of decorative rosewood and the unique position markers are found on the top of the fretboard.
