Gypsy Jazz guitars have been around since the thirties. Following the D-hole model, aka Grand Bouche, by master luthier Mario Maccaferri and the legendary brand Selmer, the Oval-Hole acoustic guitar was created, which formed the foundation for this maple cutaway. This Petit Bouche by Manuel Rodriguez from their Maccaferri series is a steel-string gypsy jazz guitar that's great value for money. Whether you prefer a classical repertoire or Django Reinhardt and his Quintette du Hot Club de France style, this Maple Model C edition makes it possible!
Maccaferri Maple: a Petit Bouche with definition and sustain
All models in the Maccaferri series have a solid spruce top and a set-in mahogany neck. Like most Gypsy Jazz guitars, this Petit Bouche has a rosewood fretboard and bridge. The heart of this Manuel Rodriguez D-Hole's sound can be described as crystal-clear with warm and creamy tonal accents. It also offers a wide dynamic range to facilitate your solos in 'La Pompe' rhythmic style, for instance. The maple back and sides and string nut and saddle combine to give you more definition and sustain. This top-quality steel-string also features a 25.6-inch scale length and a 46 mm string nut width. In short, it's an excellent acoustic guitar for punchy rhythms as well as smooth ballads!
