Meet the left-handed version of Yamaha's LL series: the LL16L ARE. This is a respectably crafted and finished guitar with an original jumbo-sized body. When you want it to, this Yamaha guitar can deliver considerable volume with little effort. The top is made of solid Engelmann spruce, which has a particularly resonant, transparent, tight sound character. Rosewood was used for the sides and back to add extra sweetness to the high tones and for an even tighter overall sound. In terms of its overall sound, the LL16L ARE is well balanced and you'll be able to appreciate the beauty in the details when you tune this guitar with its closed, gold-plated tuners.

Yamaha LL16L ARE: SRT Zero Impact Pickup System

This left-handed LL16L is fitted with a newly designed neck made with mahogany and rosewood, topped with an ebony fretboard laid with 20 frets and shaped for incredible playing comfort that's only enhanced by the improved string spacing and action. Another new development is the SRT Zero Impact contact pickup. This passive system has been meticulously designed to be as discrete and unobtrusive to the body as possible, while providing an optimal reproduction of the acoustic sound. Since this detailed system consists of six smaller piezo pickups placed at each string, there is no additional hardware to clutter the looks of the guitar, and the sound retains its authenticity when it is reproduced. All you have to do is connect with an amplifier via a guitar cable, and adjust the levels from the amp - perfect for use in bands!

Acoustic Resonance Enhancement

Yamaha developed a complex wood treatment to build the LL16L. To mimic the richness of sound produced by matured wood, a fresh piece of Engelmann spruce is treated with a precise cocktail of temperature, air pressure and moisture in order to change the molecular makeup of the wood to age and enhance it. This process of Acoustic Resonance Enhancement means that every LL16 ARE that leaves the factory is immediately endowed with the rich tone of a guitar 20 or 30 years its senior. This outstanding Yamaha has excellent playability and comes with a soft case.
