General
This all-solid RD-316 acoustic guitar by Recording King has a surprisingly affordable price tag. It's a high-quality Dreadnought with some luxurious features, including a top made of AAA Adirondack, a type of spruce that offers a rich, open, lively sound. Furthermore, the RD-316 has an ebony bridge and fretboard with pearloid position markers that go from big to small. For maximum resonance and historical authenticity, this guitar has been given a thin layer of nitrocellulose lacquer.
Recording King RD-316: resonant body and comfortable neck
Not only is the top of this Recording King RD-316 made of solid wood, but the sides and back are all-solid as well. They're made of African mahogany for a warm, sweet sound that boasts rich mids and sparkling trebles that contrasts nicely with the full, bright tone of the Adirondack top. As well as its fantastic sound, the RD-316 is also comfortable. The single-piece mahogany C-profile neck is 43mm wide and has 20 frets, and is attached to the body by means of a hand-crafted dove tail joint technique.
Other special features
This guitar features a decorative diamond-style volute from the '30s that adorns the heel. It also has forward X-bracing, which means the body is reinforced towards the front, making this Dreadnought stronger and giving it more resonance in the lower registers and more brightness in the trebles. It's an ideal instrument in a band with other loud acoustic instruments like a banjo or a violin. Last but not least, Recording King has equipped the RD-316 with a set of top-notch Grover Butterbean machine heads and a real bone string nut and saddle.
