The Recording King RPH-05 is a compact steel-string guitar from the Dirty '30s series. An important feature of this Single-O model (a.k.a. parlor model) is its solid top, as it gives the manageable RPH-05 a surprising amount of tonal force and warmth - to which the spruce adds some essential clarity. Together with the classic-looking dark matte sunburst finish, the parlor shape (very popular in the first half of the 20th century) ensures a strikingly vintage look. Adding to the old-school look are the elegant Recording King headstock, ivory-coloured bindings and large position markers

Traditionally, the parlor guitar is popular among guitarists who like to use a manageable instrument. Travelling singer songwriters, for instance, or think about musicians who like to bring a steel-string on holiday. Additionally, the small parlor body has a look of its own and tighter, fiercer resonances than the much more common dreadnought, for instance. The RPH-05 is a manageable, classically shaped, clear-sounding and powerful guitar that also boasts a low price!

Ik heb deze gitaar gekocht vooral voor op reis maar ook met het idee om te jammen bij vrienden of thuis op de bank te oefenen.
De recensies online zijn lovend en ik ben ook niet teleurgesteld: De afwerking is voor de lage prijs zeer goed.
De action is goed ingesteld en de neck is fijn om te spelen. De stemmechanieken zijn ook goed.
Mijn grootste verrassing was hoe luid deze gitaar is voor zo een klein formaat.
Toch een minpuntje: een fret (11de van de vierde snaar) geeft een lichte buzz als ik hard speel, hopelijk is het te fixen.
Vandaar 4 sterren uit 5, maar zeker geen deal breaker. Last but not least, het wordt snel geleverd zoals altijd bij Bax . Ik ben zeer tevreden met mijn aankoop.
