Beginner guitarists who don't know whether they want to play with or without a plectrum yet would do well with the Stagg SA30A-BK acoustic western guitar. This steel-string Auditorium model features a classy matte black finish and has a bright core sound with light emphasis on the mid frequencies, thanks to the basswood top and rosewood fretboard. The neck, back and sides of the SA30A are made of catalpa wood, which produces a nice, resonant sound.

This western budget guitar has twenty frets and a C-profile neck, which means it has a more ovular shape. You might notice that there isn't a pickguard on the body, and that's because it's delivered detached so you can choose whether or not you'd like to use it to protect the top of the guitar. Of course, this guitar also features a number of lovely accents, such as the black and white sound hole rosette and the creamy white body bindings.
