Takamine GD30-NAT: solid top
This steel-string acoustic guitar is fitted with a solid spruce top for a richer and more open sound than that of a similar guitar with a laminated top. That sound is even further enhanced by means of better volume and projection. The sides and back are made of the warm-sounding mahogany, which perfectly matches the sweet and clear tonal characteristics of the spruce.
Finish and details
The entire body of the Takamine GD30-NAT is finished with a high-gloss, transparent lacquer, emphasising the beautiful natural colour of the wood. The back of the neck has a matte lacquer for a satin-like feel and more playing comfort. Thanks to the split bridge saddle, the tone of the GD30-NAT sounds perfectly pure up until the highest fret. Another feature of the bridge is that it has a pinless design, so that the strings are attached along the back of the bridge, for easier and quicker string changes.

Dit is een puur acoustische gitaar, dus zonder ingebouwde electronica. Dat vind ik persoonlijk mooier en ik heb geen versterking nodig. Deze gitaar heeft absoluut voldoende volume voor normaal gebruik en ook een mooie klank.

De afwerking is behoorlijk netjes voor deze zeer schappelijke prijs. Ik moest wel de nek een beetje bijstellen, maar dat is goed te doen met de bijgeleverde inbussleutel (al moet je wel een beetje op de tast werken want de moer zit uit het zich in het klankgat). Op mijn gitaar zit een 'standaardbrug' met brugpennen en niet de brug die op de foto's wordt getoord. Het lijkt erop dat Takamine ditzelfde model ook wel heeft gemaakt met de brug die wordt getoond op de foto's, want er zijn online reviews van deze gitaar met zo'n brug.

Deze gitaar heeft een erg goede prijs/kwaliteit-verhouding en is voor de meeste gitaristen die geen versterking nodig hebben (hoewel dat natuurlijk wel kan met een microfoon) een goede keus.

Op advies van een vriend deze Takamine gekocht. Ik speel al een tijdje basgitaar en nu begonnen met deze gitaar om wat te leren tokkelen. Ik zocht in eerste instantie een beginnersgitaar maar toch besloten iets meer uit te geven. Ik ben erg blij met deze beslissing. Het geluid van deze Takamine is helder, midden is goed aanwezig, gedefinieerd, heeft best wat volume, kamervullend, rings, veel resonantie, de toon houd lang aan, je voelt de kast lang trillen. Vrij slanke hals, prima als je niet zulke grote handen hebt. De afwerking is perfect, geen foutje aan te vinden. De kleur van het sparren bovenblad van mijn exemplaar is iets donkerder dan op de foto hier. Wordt geleverd met goede snaren en prima basis afstelling. De intonatie is perfect. De actie was voor mij iets te hoog. Dit heb ik opgelost door iets van de brugkam af te vijlen. (alleen doen als je er ervaring mee hebt)
