IK Multimedia proudly presents the successor to their ARC system. ARC stands for Advanced Room Correction, which means this system measures the acoustics of your room, and calculates how they affect your sound. Based on that information, the system's software compensates by boosting or damping specific frequencies, making sure that your speakers' output sounds as neutral as possible.

Advantages of the ARC 2 correction system

The ARC 2 correction system offers many benefits. Use this system, and it's no longer necessary to fill your studio with acoustic diffusion and damping materials. That means you can save yourself a good deal of time and money, especially if you have a considerable number of square feet to cover. Working with the ARC 2 system is easy - chart the acoustics of your room using the included shotgun measurement microphone, and the system automatically makes the required adjustments.

Differences with the first ARC edition

The first ARC edition ran with a version of MultEQ, but based on feedback and experience, IK Multimedia changed that. ARC 2 uses MultEQ XT32, allowing for even more precise EQ corrections. The system offers combined L/R correction, as well as adjustable target curves, which means the output of your monitors can be accurately fine-tuned until you've achieved the ultimate sound. The software's interface has been redesigned, and now boasts a more relaxing, attractive look and a clearer overview.

Je conseil ce produit c 'est une revolution ! Facile d'installation , attention à faire soigneusement quand même. Pensez bien à activer le Mode 48 V Phantom pour capter du signal sur le micro.

Wrote the following about IK Multimedia ARC 2 acoustic correction system

This thing works as advertised. I'm very happy with it. I used to own a KRK ERGO in my old studio and needed a new one after rebuilding a new mixing space but since it has been discontinued, I was happy to find this product in replacement, which works as well, if not better.

Also, the condenser mic included is well made and sounds decent for many other applications, like IR and field recording - which is a nice added value. The ERGO's microphone could only be used to calibrate it since it had a none-standard, proprietary voltage.

De ruimte waar je in werkt kan een behoorlijke verkleuring aan je sound geven.
Klinkt je mix thuis geweldig, maar is het altijd weer een verassing hoe het ergens anders klinkt?
Dan heb jij waarschijnlijk een probleem met de akoestiek.
Voor een betrouwbaar geluid hebben wij hier een zeer effectieve oplossing gevonden, de ARC 2 van IK Multimedia.
Relatief goedkoop als je het vergelijkt met de kosten van isolatiemateriaal plus dat je de nodige expertise nodig hebt om het juist te plaatsen.
Al met al is de ARC 2 een goeie investering voor de serieuze muzikant.
Gemakkelijk te installeren, alleen de metingen verrichten is even een karweitje maar aangezien deze eenmalig hoeven te worden uitgevoerd is dit zeker geen probleem.
Wel is het van belang dat je een goeie microfoon versterker gebruikt die niet teveel kleur aan je sound toevoegt omdat dit het eindresultaat beïnvloed.
Een klein nadeel voor Propellerhead Reason en Record gebruikers, deze plugin heeft een host nodig die Vst's ondersteund.
